Approach to routine interactions with industry: a primer for residents Arora V, Schneider JA, Borden WB, Humphrey HJ
The ACGME recommends that residency programs institute a curriculum on physician-industry interactions and the implications of these interactions for patient care. Yet, such formal curricula for residents are lacking. In response to this educational need, the authors developed an interactive workshop with 2 goals: to raise house staff awareness about professional dilemmas encountered in routine interactions with industry and to provide a practical conceptual framework with which to approach these interactions. This article draws from the authors’ 5 years of experience leading interns and residents in this workshop.
