Resident as teacher: practical tips to enhance feedback on the fly Harrell HE
Providing effective feedback to students and interns is an essential component of clinical education. As novices to clinical medicine, students and interns need feedback from more experienced clinicians to know whether they are learning correctly. Residents largely carry out this teaching role. This article is the first in a series focused on practical strategies residents can apply to improve the quality of their teaching. The series begins with a discussion of the value of and approach to providing informal feedback during day-to-day clinical experiences, or “on the fly.
