Breaking bad news: a patient-centered approach to delivering an unexpected cancer diagnosis
Dwamena FC, Han C, Smith RC
Delivering bad news to patients is a difficult but essential task in clinical practice. This article presents a patient-centered approach that can help physicians better anticipate, elicit, and respond to patient reactions to receiving bad news and lead to less distress and better patient choices.
