Finding the practice that is right for you: tips for a successful job search after residency Beckman HB
The process of finding the right job after residency can be a daunting and frustrating task for a new physician. Often, residents receive no instruction as to how to identify and attain a position that will ultimately meet their specific goals and needs. As a result, many new physicians find themselves unsatisfied with their employment choice and must start the job search process again. This article offers tips and strategies that a new physician can apply to increase the likelihood of obtaining an ideal position within an existing practice or a clinical academic setting. The author provides insight as to how to assess and negotiate a potential job opportunity that will ultimately be satisfying to the physician.
