- Proceed with the hemithyroidectomy.
Hemithyroidectomy is a procedure with intermediate risk.1 The patient has intermediate clinical predictors (eg, diabetes, smoking, prior MI) and moderate functional capacity. No further cardiac evaluation is necessary, and proceeding with hemithyroidectomy is appropriate.
