Answer 3 Membranous glomerulopathy. This patient’s underlying medical conditions suggest that membranous glomerulopathy is the cause of her renal disease. Thromboembolic complications are most commonly associated with membranous glomerulopathy. In addition, hypercoagulability is associated with all causes of nephrotic syndrome as well as with cancers, so this patient has 2 risk factors for developing a venous thrombosis.
