- Polycythemia vera.
This patients clinical symptoms, including headaches, pruritus, dyspnea, and blurred vision, are the result of hyperviscosity. CML, essential thrombocytosis, and myelofibrosis are myeloproliferative disorders and may have a similar hematologic picture to polycythemia vera, but are less likely to present with postbathing pruritus. CML and myelofibrosis are more likely to present with anemia rather than markedly elevated hemoglobin and hematocrit levels.
