- Prolactin.
This patients presentation with headaches and visual field defects suggests a prolactinoma, which is the most common type of pituitary tumor. Headaches and visual field defects are the most common initial symptoms of prolactinoma. Other aspects of the clinical presentation depend on the age of the patient, with patients younger than 30 years more likely to present with gynecomastia. Some testicular tumors secrete ß-hCG (germ cell tumors). AFP is a serum tumor marker for certain types of testicular cancer (nonseminomatous germ cell tumor).
