The ulnar nerve runs through the medial epicondylar groove. The ulnar nerve innervates the medial aspect of the hand. (Standard anatomical position assumes the palms forward.) Examination should focus on palpation of the nerve as it passes through the epicondylar groove, thereby reproducing the paresthesias along the nerve distribution.
