The reversal agent for severe symptomatic methemoglobinemia is methylene blue. Amyl nitrite and sodium thiosulfate are agents commonly used for cyanide toxicity, and naloxone hydrochloride is a reversal agent for opioid excess. Hemodialysis is not a recommended treatment for methemoglobinemia.
