HIV Treatment Goals
This monograph series is intended to provide HIV specialists with a practical guide to the use of antiretroviral therapy in adult patients. The series addresses major elements of the clinical care of HIV-infected adults, with a focus on current guideline recommendations for optimizing patient outcomes. Each monograph provides a review of the available literature in the context of one or more clinical cases.

Part 2: Complications of Antiretroviral Therapy

Effective use of highly active antiretroviral therapy has allowed for dramatic improvement in the duration and quality of life for persons living with HIV infection. Unfortunately, HIV treatment is associated with a wide range of medication toxicities. This monograph discusses short- and long-term adverse effects of antiretroviral therapy as well as strategies for their management.
