Processes of care predict survival following nursing home-acquired pneumonia
Hutt E, Frederickson EB, Ecord M, Kramer AM
The authors used a set of evidence-based criteria to evaluate the care received by patients who acquired pneumonia within the first 90 days of nursing home admission. Appropriate care (eg, appropriate timing of evaluation, hospitalization, administration of antibiotics) was associated with improved 30-day survival.
