Physician perceptions about the flu: a survey of U.S. primary care providers

Surveyed physicians indicated that patient complaints and the season in which the patient presents were more important than physical examination findings in making a diagnosis. Most physicians recommended flu vaccination and supported conservative measures for treatment of flu patients.
