J Clin Outcomes Manage  2003 Jul;10(7):365-370 Optimizing testing and treatment for Helicobacter pylori infection in patients with acutely bleeding gastroduodenal ulcers: an interventional study Wong RCK, Catanzaro A, Gonet JA, Chak A, Sivak MV, Cooper GS The authors disseminated guidelines recommending the urease method of testing for H. pylori infection in patients with bleeding ulcers and promoted compliance with chart reminders. In the year following dissemination, use of the urease test increased from 27% to 51%, and the percentage of patients treated prior to discharge increased from 45% to 84%.
