Incidence and treatment cost of oral candidiasis among users of inhaled bronchial steroids Hutchinson S, Westfall L, Corby ST
The authors measured the incidence of oral candidiasis among inhaled bronchial steroid (IBS) users by calculating the number of oral antifungals prescribed to patients during IBS therapy over a 1-year period. Users of triamcinolone acetonide filled the same number of prescriptions as users of other IBS products, but the triamcinolone group had shorter courses of antifungal therapy, resulting in lower costs.
