Resource use and expenditures associated with medical therapy for gastroesophageal reflux disease in Ohio medicaid beneficiaries Cooper GS, Mourad WA, Koroukian SM
Patients prescribed proton pump inhibitors had higher GERD-related expenditures than patients receiving H2-receptor antagonists or other therapies but were more likely to have severe GERD and major comorbidities. After adjustment for clinical differences, the costs of nonpharmacy services were similar between patient groups.
