The potential benefit of infectious diseases consultation in patients with community-acquired bacteremia Saint S, Zemencuk JK, Chenoweth CE, Lipsky BA, Baker PD, Plorde JJ
The authors evaluated the effect of infectious diseases consultation on mortality in hospitalized patients with community-acquired or nosocomial bacteremia. Multivariate logistic regression revealed no effect on overall mortality, but a trend toward lower mortality in patients with community-acquired bacteremia was seen.
