Lower ED walkout rates following rapid improvement process changes Emerman Cl, Laskey S, Warner C, Kovach B, West B
Abstract Objective: To describe the effect of a portfolio of rapid improvement process changes on emergency department (ED) walkout rates. Methods: A series of improvements capped by changes in front desk patient flow was implemented. Results: ED walkout rates decreased to 1%. Conclusions: Team-led ED process improvements can improve patient care.
