Technologies for receiving test results in primary care practices and the impact of managed care

In this survey of physicians in 8 U.S. metropolitan areas, more than two thirds reported experiencing delays in receiving laboratory and radiology study results at least a little of the time. Physicians practicing in markets with high levels of managed care penetration were not more likely to have technologies for receiving test results electronically or to receive results in a timely fashion.
